Animal Program
| ||||||||||
This program was planned and carried out by two ten-year-old Guides in 2008. It is reproduced here with the permission of both the girls and their parents. I have tried to reproduce the paperwork as it was presented by the girls (for some reason, the spacing is better if viewed with Internet Explorer, rather than Firefox).
Your patrol has already made the mixture. Now you just need to cook and decorate the gingerbread animals. METHOD Roll out the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper until approximately 4 mm thick. Cut gingerbread animals from the dough. Place on baking paper on plate and put some chocolate eyes on them. Cook two at a time in the microwave with a mug filled ¾ full of water. Put cold water in the mug for each batch of gingerbread. Cook for 2 minutes or until crisp. Allow to cool. Now you need to put the icing on the gingerbread animals. You have 15 minutes. So be quick.
You will be mixing the gingerbread dough as a unit. When you have finished you need to divide the dough into three portions, one for each patrol to cook later. So you need to take turns while making the dough. INGREDIENTS 180g cooking margarine Beat the margarine and sugar together until light and creamy. Add the egg and beat until combined. Divide the dough into 3 portions and wrap each in cling wrap and put in the fridge.
On this table there are some recycled materials and string. Make a 3D animal out of these things.
Then we will judge your animals and the best one will get a prize
Your patrol needs to think of a skit containing the topic animals.
Planned and carried out by K. Jackson and G. Lennon, 4th August 2008. | ||||||||||
