Goals and Plans for next year

"This is a fantastic diary and I think you have done a wonderful thing here for all leaders of youth to help get them organised for the year!" – NR, Mid-West Region, NSW

"You've put a lot of work into the diary, and it's something that's been lacking for a while." – DG, North West Region, WA

Order Form

The Australian Guide Unit Diary is available as a comb-bound paper copy. The Diary may not be photocopied or otherwise reproduced.

If you wish to put the pages into a ring binder, let me know on the order form, and I'll send it to you unbound.

Cost: $30.00 + $14.00 postage anywhere in Australia.

"I have opened it and it looks great. I am going to definitely use most of it (probably all of it)." – CC, Northmead Roc ‘N’ Croc Guides, NSW

"I have one of those zippered folder thingies, and can put the diary into that - it has a two ring binder bit inside it. That means the diary will be where my stamps, etc. are - everything together! It’ll be magical! Heheh ... I will be so organised I will amaze everyone - myself included!" - DF, Lones, NSW

Payment for the Unit Diary would be a Unit expense.

This is not an official publication of Girl Guides Australia.

"This diary is fantastic! We are talking about getting another one for the Guide Unit. I have the Junior Guides. Also our District Leader thought it would be a useful tool for all of our Leaders to have one." – GH, 2nd Grenfell Junior Guides, NSW

"We have new Leaders who have just taken over the 7-10 Unit and they are in the planning stage. I think any way of helping them get organised would be great." – YJ, Hampton Vic

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm concerned that the Diary might have a NSW bias. I am a Guide Leader in Queensland. Is the Diary relevant for me?

The Diary is a collection of forms and planners that are designed for use by anyone leading a Guide Unit according to the Australian Guide Program. As with any diary, there will be some forms that you might not use often, or at all. For instance, there are several methods of planning the program - simply use the one that suits you best. Similarly, if a particular form has sections that aren't quite what your Region is used to, fill in your own requirements in those sections.

Is the Diary dated, or does the leader insert the appropriate dates?

The Australian Guide Unit Diary is undated, so that it can be started at any time of the year. When you receive it, simply sit down with a calendar and fill in the appropriate dates and start using it. This will take a little bit of time, but it's well worth it.

Two leaders (of two different units) live in our house – do we need to buy two copies?

The Diary is meant to be used by Units, so that you have a complete record of the Unit’s activities over a year. Therefore, each person in the household would need to buy a copy for her own Unit. It would also be perfect to hand over when leadership of a Unit changes - everything would be at the new Leader's fingertips! Remember, purchase of the Australian Guide Unit Diary is a legitimate Unit expense.

How could you see my messy desk all the way from Cattai NSW?

I figure that if my desk is messy, approximately 99% of the desks in humandom are probably messy. I didn’t peek over your shoulder – I’m a Desktop Filer too! That’s why I created the Australian Guide Unit Diary, so the mess on my desk doesn’t interfere with leading my Unit. See Gaye’s Filing System for a terrific and easy way of filing your Guiding resources that even kids can do.
